Smart Energy No crash?!

Image
Do you find yourself drinking to much coffee, or an extra can of soda, and then discover that afternoon crash?    https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/319092 ,  The "afternoon slump" is a real phenomenon linked to the brain's natural  circadian rhythm , which regulates our daily cycles of alertness and sleepiness. Neuroscience research suggests that the brain's reward center is less active in the afternoon, contributing to feelings of fatigue and decreased motivation. This dip in reward processing is part of the body's natural cycle and can be influenced by hormonal fluctuations, such as changes in  cortisol ,  estrogen , and  progesterone , as well as sleep pressure. One angle, is to work on getting your circadian rhythms back in balance, up and down with the sun. Less electronics before bedtime, balance meals and exercise, take frequent breaks if sitting most of the day.  A common response is we often grab...

Hope for Mental Health

Image
Mental health is a state of mind characterized by emotional well-being, good behavioral adjustment, relative freedom from anxiety and disabling symptoms, and a capacity to establish constructive relationships and cope with the ordinary demands and stresses of life.  Society says we are as we're labeled medically. We may have physical & mental challenges, but they don't define us.  Lets look at Mental Health from a Mind, Body, Spirit perspective. When we add in the spiritual dimension and have put our trust in Jesus, we know we have purpose, hope and peace from Christ. That dimension, helps many overcome the dark times of mental health.  Giving our life to Christ, and possibly getting deliverance or talk therapy or inner healing, also can be significant.  Often our body is still crying out, I'm imbalanced!  We work on better sleep, more sunlight and fresh air, healthier eating, laughter and creative experiences can reduce the stress hormone, change in brain ...

Animals and Activation

Image
April 11th was National Pet Day.  Many of us have pets: Dogs, Cats, Hamsters, Rabbits, Horses, Sheep, and others.  Animals, like humans, age. Why is your dog getting fibromyalgia, your cat's eye all infected, and your horse have arthritis? Aging, sickness & disease is due to oxidative stress.  They cost a lot of money to feed and care for, and unexpected doctor bills are no fun.  Could there be a way to help them age more gracefully? Are you a horse trainer, or a dog or cat lover?  Here are a few articles to consider. https://www.mdpi.com/2227-9717/8/12/1670 https://www.petfoodindustry.com/nutrition/pet-food-ingredients/article/15466494/combating-oxidative-stress-in-companion-animals Science tells us, that there is HOPE for our furry friends!  Oxidative stress can be reduced, aging, sickness and disease can be slowed. A key is through activation, vs supplements.  https://activatewellness.us/nrf2/f/oxidative-stress-and-nrf2-activation-in-dogs https:...

Massage & Nutrition better together

Image
After work, with sports training, or for self care a few times a year Massage  is good. Some benefits include   https://www.clearsolutionsmassage.com/the_clinic .  Is there a role of nutrition in supporting a massage? Nutrition helps to fix the tissues, make energy, handle inflammation and of course, drink lots of water, prior or you may get cramps.  In most cases, our food isn't enough for all the nutrition we need, even organic. With the toxics around us, in the air, lack of nutrition in food, lack of sleep, etc, we have high oxidative stress, and often are dealing with mental health, sickness or disease sooner than we'd prefer.  Keep getting the massage, and depending on what your body needs, activation, vs supplementation is there to help our body do what it's designed to do.  This month on our third Thursday LEARN MORE series, join us on zoom as we hear from  Katie Lilligren, Massage Therapist  mom and gym rat share her health journey...

Maternal Health and Wellbeing

Image
Is it the beauty of maternity, or maternal mental health madness?  Maybe it's some of both, but it doesn't have to be, there is hope! Not everyone gets pregnant as easy as they had expected, many try for years asking WHY, while others continue to have child after child all around.  The "what's wrong with me" at times kicks in, extra doctor visits, lab tests and considerations are offered. Cleanses, fasts, ovulation cycles are watched, and meds may be prescribed , and for some the waiting continues, but what if there was an all natural way to activate your body to reduce your oxidative stress? A causative issue in over 300 emotional, mental and physical issues, could it also impact  infertility ? Then when the pregnancy occurs and after mom may experience postpartum depression. There's the lack of sleep routine, how to prioritize diet, exercise, self care.  The balance of life is off, and everyone is trying to rebalance, hopefully in spirit, mind and body! M...

December isn't always Merry & Bright

Image
"It's the most happiest time of the year", an old Andy Williams song rings through our mind. For many, it's far from happy.  It's a month of anxiety, depression, lonliness, suicidal thoughts, some start drinking or med seeking to escape, some decide to get help in programs, others isolate at home white knuckling. PubMed (national center for biotech information) show studies of high oxidative stress as a key factor to these type of issues.     https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=mental+health+%2B+oxidative+stress https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=alcohol+addiction+%2B+oxidative+stress https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=depression+%2B+oxidative+stress This post isn’t to focus on addiction and the hopelessness than often comes with it, but to be encouraged! Maybe you're someone who's gone through and are on the freedom side, yet get concerned around holidays for fear of being with family or friends and tempted to take a drink to be part of the grou...
