For some men, women and families, holidays are a joyous time. For others, it's dark and lonely. Many sink into depression and addiction. This article talks about a survey given to over 2000 people. Half surveyed say they drink the same during this season as year around,29% drink more. 84% are overwhelmed.25% reported high levels of depression, and many are in a cycle of depression and drinking.62% indicate being moderately anxious. You may be someone who has completed a recovery program, received deliverance, given your life to Christ, attended recovery meetings, and on a bad day, start again, in isolation, drinking alone, or maybe with others in the festivities of the season. You were fine for awhile, and then you’ve relapsed, or you never lost the cravings, or your addiction shifted and without purpose you find yourself struggling, months or years later. Maybe you need to leave your current situation to get sober (through a detox, and inpatient or outpatient program) You need healthy friends, purpose to live, and to saturate our mind with God's word and His truth of who He says we are. Yet maybe you're in the 29% that drink more during the holidays.
Lets look at recovery in spirit, soul and body. Perhaps your spirit has been restored, you may have established some better habits, yet you still crave, struggle and give in .Often there is a lot of shame with (take alcohol addiction for example). When looking at the science, it's an imbalance of neurotransmitters, due to high oxidative stress from: environment, food, toxins, birthing, etc. Yes, you did take the first drink, however it's hard to stop. Yes you've addressed the spirit, and mind, it's time to address the physical aspect of your recovery. There is hope!
In 2022, I partnered with Jacquelyn Sheppard, author of Silent Take Over. We documented a group of 24 people struggling with addictions for Dave Johnson of Lost Sheep Ministries. Considering Spirit and Mind, she had us address the body. For six months, participants changed one thing in their life, they added an all natural caplet that activates our NrF2 pathway to make our own anti-oxidants to reduce high free radicals by 1 million every second. I watched them loose cravings to alcohol, fentanyl, cigarettes, sugar. Participants began eating healthier, exercising, having sober fun and enjoying life! A year later, some worked with doctors to end their prescription drug routine, for anxiety, depression, OCD, ADD & ADHD.
For information on this pathway to recovery, text "hope for the Holidays" to 612-385-1870. You'll get a text to schedule a free health consult with Jacquelyn Sheppard, Health Counselor and Author Silent Takeover. We'll ask health questions and family history, share the science of activation, the patent synergistic formula, the 28 peer-reviewed studies, and give you opportunity to ask questions. If this sounds good, we'll help you order.
I shared the MN Addiction Study on a national Wellness Wednesday, Jacquelyn Sheppard hosted recently. See MN Addiction Study Tab. See replays on bottom of events page.
